Can a 2 year old use an electric toothbrush?

Hi, I'm a Dental nurse and I wouldn't really recommend an electric toothbrush as I think it might be too harsh for his gums. A regular tooth brush is perfctly fine, maybe you try holding the brush and going around his mouth while your partner entertains the child by talking or singing etc. And only use the smallest pea size amount of toothpaste if any at all. My son is 5 and from an early age he has been familiar with a tooth brush and that he has to brush twice daily so be patient and try different ways to occupy him while you get the job done...
